Newt Gingrich Understands the Power of Advancing Technologies for Creating
New Jobs
It seems only yesterday, back in 1992, when I escorted Newt Gingrich around introducing
him to entrepreneurs working on advancing technologies in his district.
Since that time, I have had the good fortune
of being involved with various advancing technologies throughout the world, including high-tech products manufactured by German
and Swiss companies which, as a private citizen, I personally recruited into the United States.
The key to economic
recovery for the 7th Congressional District of Alabama is to use the power of advancing technologies to create new jobs for
our citizens. As your congressional representative, my vision is to take full advantage of technology, both domestic and worldwide,
that are a fit for the people and the natural resources in our district.
Throughout the campaign, I am taking the lead
by meeting with various Chambers of Commerce and Industrial Development Boards throughout the district to show them the process
and benefits of my plans and to gain their support and involvement.
In conjunction with the chambers, private business
and financial investment coalitions, we will formulate technological seminars in the district to keep you informed about any
new technologies on our target list that we believe will add to the number and quality of jobs being created in our district.
I
plan to once again attend The ACHEMA World Exposition in Frankfurt, Germany. It is held every two years, and I have attended
it twice. I believe this is the most complete and promising exposition in the world for finding new and advancing technologies.
One
technology I will revisit as your Congressman is Dr. Jack Gilbert’s patent on a “gas generator,” which is
applicable to the fuel injected automobile. This seems to be a classic case of an idea that arrives before it’s time.
Back
in 1992, I coordinated with Dr. Gilbert to introduce his prototype “gas generator” to Newt Gingrich with Channel
46 news attending the demonstration. Based on this invention’s application, I developed a 10-year economic recovery
proposal on how to utilize the “gas generator” to address the national debt, which a copy was given to former
Vice President Dan Quayle’s Chief of Staff. As a private citizen, I didn’t have the power to get this technology
the attention it deserves. As your Congressman, this patent will be revisited for two important reasons:
- It has
the potential to create significant employment opportunities.
- It has potential to significantly reduce our dependence
on foreign oil imports.
History has shown that innovative technologies, such as Gilbert’s invention, are
seldom paid attention to until we are in desperate need of it. Such is the case with the “gas generator.”
With two major automobile manufacturers next door to our district, it certainly warrants making a determination if,
in fact, this technology has value for our job creating objectives. If we discover, in the final analysis, this technology
has solid potential to be incorporated as a component part for the auto industry, I will immediately begin plans for its implementation.
As a congressional representative for the people of the 7th district, I am fully committed and qualified to lead a
coalition of business and community leaders to find the right technologies for creating jobs in our district. Dr. Gilbert’s
“gas generator” is only one of hundreds of patents sitting idle and waiting to be put to good use. As your Congressman,
I will pursue those inventions that will help the people of District 7.
“Let’s Get To Work”
bringing new technology products into our district. It is time we demonstrate how government, through leadership, can meet
the needs of people the old fashioned way; creating new jobs based on focused hard work and not government handouts.
