" supporting our military is not a Republican or Democrat Issue; it is an American issue for the cause of freedom "
Don Chamberlain

Vote in the Primary on March 13th

As an American, I hold close to my heart a belief that our military and veterans who serve our country make many sacrifices for the “cause of freedom” we have and enjoy today.

Freedom that rings, bought and paid for by the blood our soldiers left on the sands of Iwo Jima to the beaches of Normandy, and in every conflict’s “call to arms” our soldiers have answered  carrying out their sacred duty to protect freedom throughout the history of our republic.

For Those who came before us, those now engaged, and those who are yet to be called upon for battle, you can be assured that I, as a Congressional Representative, can be counted on for uncompromising support of our military, veterans, and their families.

Supporting our military is not a Republican or Democrat issue; it is an American issue, for the cause of freedom, and I believe every American should stand behind our military.

I have experienced the sting of battle in a war that was unpopular, a war that divided our nation, and yes, a war that took over 50,000 American soldier’s lives during that trying era.

The experiences of Vietnam give me a unique understanding of the sacrifices our young men and women make when “called to arms” and how much they look forward to coming home from battlefields.

As a Congressman my approach for voting on any bill referencing our military can be summed up by two questions:

Does this bill strengthen our military readiness to defend democracy worldwide?
Does this bill strengthen benefits our military personnel, veterans and families receive from the government of The United States?

As a Congressional Representative, my vote can be counted in the “affirmative” when the answer to these two questions is “Yes”.

I believe in today’s world, we must continue building a diverse and strong military to protect freedom from the dangers we face on a continuing global basis.
